Full time Musical Theatre Training
Designed for ambitious and experienced performers aged 16+
Our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts is a comprehensive, two-year programme that equips you with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed for a successful career in musical theatre or further education in drama schools. Equivalent to three A Levels, this course combines rigorous training in dance, vocal performance, and acting with practical, hands-on experience.
Course Highlights:
Extensive Training: Engage in a comprehensive learning experience dedicated to refining your skills in key areas such as jazz, ballet, tap, vocal techniques, and acting. Receive 600+ hours of world-class training each year, with tuition completely free if you are aged 16-18.
Two-Year Structured Learning: Our curriculum is tailored to foster your growth through progressive challenges and achievements, ensuring you build a solid foundation in all aspects of musical theatre.
Performance Opportunities: Develop your stage presence and confidence with at least four performance opportunities throughout the course, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned in real-world settings. Throughout the year, you will explore a range of scripts, devise material for performances, and showcase your talents in front of live audiences.

The Level 3 Extended Diploma includes key core units essential for a comprehensive understanding and mastery of the performing arts:
Core Units:
Performance Preparation (CAPA 304): Equip yourself with the necessary skills and techniques to prepare for professional performances.
Final Production (CAPA 305): Apply your skills in a culminating project that showcases your growth and talents.
Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA 306): Strategise and plan your future in the performing arts industry, focusing on career goals and opportunities.
Flexible and Dynamic Learning:
Our course is uniquely designed to adapt to the ever-changing dynamics of the performing arts industry. Optional units are offered each term that reflect the latest industry trends and staff expertise, allowing you to tailor your education to your interests and the demands of the field. Impressive Track Record:
In 2024, 100% of our students passed and achieved a merit or above, with 48% achieving a Distinction or Distinction*. A Distinction* at the end of this course is equivalent to three A*s at A Level, making it a highly respected qualification among universities and employers.
The Timetable:
Our main College timetable runs Tuesday-Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm.
In addition, students may be required to attend additional show rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have a strong passion for the performing arts and must demonstrate potential through an audition process.
It is requirement that students achieve 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, which must include Maths and English. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate GCSE resit candidates. All offers are conditional until GCSE results day and confirmation of grades achieved.

In addition to your main course, you can engage in enrichment training and join competitive teams like the Hip Hop Competition Team or Artemis Singers. These activities offer further opportunities for public performances, competitions, and networking with industry professionals.

We provide numerous opportunities to engage with industry professionals through workshops and guest lectures. Our students have had the chance to learn from West End producers like Paul Taylor Mills, and principle cast members from productions such as Hamilton, SIX, 42nd Street, and more. These interactions are crucial for networking and gaining insights into the professional world of creative and performing arts.

We are committed to inclusivity and provide tailored support for students with specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and other needs. If you currently have a valid Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) or a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA), you may be entitled to additional support to ensure you achieve your best.

Each term, you will watch a show in either a local or West End theatre, and have the chance to meet the creative people involved - either for question and answer sessions, or full workshops. We also invite well known creative practitioners for hands-on workshops so you can network and gain feedback.

As well as your main course and enrichment - learners undertake work experience (the number of hours depends on your course level). This will be on and off stage, at real events. It can include paid work for promotional and performance work - and we have several creative partners who will provide you with opportunities (such as The Arts Centre Hounslow, Omni Theatre, The Windsor Globe, South Hill Park).
